FAQ's
Do you offer therapy for clients outside of Texas or while traveling outside of Texas?
I am currently only able to provide therapy for clients while they are physically in the State of Texas. This includes telehealth appointments.
Do you take insurance?
I do not currently accept insurance. However, you may have out-of-network benefits that would allow you to be reimbursed if you have an insurance provider. Please contact your insurance company directly for more information about your out-of-network behavioral health benefits. I am happy to provide you with a receipt to file with your insurance provider so that you may take advantage of these out-of-network benefits or to bill to a flexible spending account (FSA).
Why don’t you work directly with insurance?
Therapy is an important investment in your well-being. We’ve chosen not to contract with insurance companies because doing so can limit the therapy experience. Most insurance providers require a formal diagnosis for reimbursement, restrict the number of sessions you can attend each year, and often become involved in treatment decisions. By staying independent, we can focus fully on your needs, your pace, and your goals for healing.
Do you offer sliding scale rates?
Yes. We set aside a limited number of reduced-fee slots to help make therapy more accessible. If you’re interested in a sliding scale option, please schedule a free consultation to discuss options.
How do I pay for sessions?
Sessions can be paid for by debit or credit card on the client portal. HSA/FSA cards are also accepted.
How many sessions will I need of EMDR?
Therapy begins with preparation sessions focused on history-taking, building coping skills, and ensuring you feel grounded and supported. After that, the number of reprocessing sessions depends on how many memories or themes you want to target. Some people complete their work after just one focus area, while others continue for longer to address multiple experiences or use EMDR as part of a broader ongoing therapy. Extended sessions can also expedite healing.
Is EMDR effective online?
Yes! Recent studies show that EMDR delivered via telehealth can be highly effective, offering significant reductions in symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, and depression while maintaining the same protocol used in person. Click here to learn more.
